Narendra Modi Stadium received a bomb threat early on Wednesday morning while the second multi-day match between India Under-19 and Australia Under-19 was taking place at Ground ‘A’.

Apart from the stadium, the High Court and several schools and colleges across Ahmedabad also received bomb threats via an email that came around 11 in the morning.

A team from the Cyber Cell came to the stadium to enquire about the email, which threatened to hamper the Diljit Dosanjh concert set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 21.

“We informed the local police as soon as we received the email. This has happened a couple of times earlier as well, including during the World Cup 2023 and IPL,” Gujarat Cricket Association Secretary Anil Patel told Sportstar.

When the email arrived, the two U-19 teams were on the stadium premises. The match had ended by around 11:15 a.m. IST.

It has been learnt that they weren’t told about the threat immediately. However, as soon as they were informed, both sides left the stadium, as per protocol, only after 1 p.m. IST.
