A bright green Citi Golf Chico, emblazoned with Springbok imagery, has become a viral sensation after it appeared on the streets of Baltimore ahead of the match against the All Blacks at M&T Bank Stadium.

The vehicle is owned by a South African expat, who has a fleet of imported Citi Golfs in multiple colours.

CITI GOLF CHICO GOES VIRAL IN BALTIMORE

Images of a bright green Citi Golf Chico with Springbok stickers plastered all over went viral on social media.

The car bore a South African number plate – from KwaZulu-Natal specifically.

The sighting of the car has warmed the hearts of South Africans on social media, as an ode to both the country and the Springboks rugby team.

WHO OWNS IT?

The Citi Golf Chico is owned by US content creator Ali Farzad, also known as @networktheking, and his South African wife, Xaba Nonhlanhla.

Xaba hails from Durban and continues to shine her love for South Africa through her social media platforms.

The Virginia-based couple purchased the car last year, which they have added to their fleet of Citi Golf Chicos in various colours.

Ali and Xaba, affectionately known as Magesh, run an entertainment promotion company called CitiVibes, which facilitates music gigs in the Washington metropolitan area.

The couple shared: “Our inspiration comes strongly from South African township culture, where music, style, and togetherness create magic even in the simplest moments.

“As a tribute to this influence, we’ve imported seven iconic VW Citi Golfs from South Africa – symbols of heritage, identity, and timeless culture that reflect who we are and what we represent”
