Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank is transformed in new stage role

Daniel Brocklebank has traded in the small screen for a live theatre audience.
The actor rose to prominence on television following a 12-year stint on Coronation Street playing the character Billy Mayhew.
He made a tearful exit from Weatherfield in January and 10 months later, he has landed an exciting new role in The Hunger Games: On Stage. Fans can purchase tickets now.

The popular stage show is now into its second year at the Troubadour Theatre in Canary Wharf. Production images show Brocklebank playing Caesar Flickerman, the Master of Ceremonies and commentator for The Hunger Games.
The character is known for being rather flamboyant, not only regarding his personality but also his clothing, as he sports a different suit and hair colour before each Hunger Games he presents.
Flickerman also possesses a distinctive laugh and broad smile, which is etched on Brocklebank's face in the images from his performance.
Speaking on his role back in September, Brocklebank said: "It’s an absolute honour to be joining the cast as Caesar Flickerman and I’m very much looking forward to being part of such an exciting cinematic yet theatrical experience.”
The former soap star is one of several new members of The Hunger Games: On Stage cast, including another former serial drama actor, Neil McDermott.
He has played Ryan Malloy, the brother of Whitney Dean, in several different stints on Albert Square since 2009, with his last appearance coming in 2023.
McDermott will portray Haymitch Abernathy, the man who won the 50th Hunger Games and is described by Goodreads as a “paunchy, alcohol-loving, handsome middle-aged man.”

Production photos show McDermott in action and sporting long hair as he brings the character of Haymitch to life.
"I’m delighted to be joining The Hunger Games: On Stage family and the world of Panem,” McDermott said about his new role.
"It’s thrilling to be trusted with the responsibility of playing Haymitch, particularly in a year where the next instalment of the film franchise focusing on Haymitch’s backstory is set to release in cinemas."
The Hunger Games' new cast members have already taken to the stage and their final performance will take place on 14 February 2027.
