TV tonight: a striking film about the late musician Beldina Odenyo

In October 2021, a triumphant performance at Usher Hall in Edinburgh set the singer‑songwriter Beldina Odenyo on the path to great success. By November, she had taken her own life. She was 31. In this documentary, her half-sister Leah attempts to gather Odenyo’s demos into an album. It also considers the trauma she lived with, as well as the force of her music. Hollie Richardson

And that work involves an alarming amount of crime‑solving. Her first case concerns the death of her colleague – and she doesn’t believe it was the result of a mountain-lion attack. HR

The Belfast cop drama, created by two former investigative journalists, is as riveting as ever in its fourth season – and we get answers to what happened after a gunshot in that cliffhanger opener. Meanwhile, Blackthorn station is marked for closure, poor wee Tommy is struggling with heartbreak and Grace gets (yet another) nasty bit of news. HR
Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA
9pm, BBC Three
Scarlet, 26, is married with a young son. She’s also a sex worker at Mustang Ranch in Nevada, the sole US state where brothels are legal (at least, in some rural counties). While it’s presented as a safer and more empathic option for sex workers, they must nevertheless earn their keep. And, as Dooley discovers, some, including Scarlet, may be paying an emotional price.
