Adani: ‘Pulisic’s happiness is fundamental for Milan’

Lele Adani believes Ruben Amorim’s system is the key to getting the best out of Christian Pulisic, whose goal at the weekend ended a long wait in Serie A.
Speaking on La Domenica Sportiva on Rai 2, the former defender turned pundit said: “Pulisic’s happiness is fundamental for Milan: the joy of playing and the joy of being left free to express himself in that zone between the lines, between midfield and attack, where he can do so many things.”

He credited Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 for creating that space. “I honestly think Amorim’s system, which has two free attacking midfielders, not locked in, and that would be a conversation to have with the coach, gives a lot of freedom,” Adani said.
“He plays with two holding midfielders, one more of a builder and the other a runner, like Modric and Rabiot, and the two attacking midfielders can open out, come inside and become forwards. For me that is the trademark, the house speciality of Christian Pulisic.”
The numbers back up the timing. According to MilanNews, the goal was Pulisic’s first in Serie A in 266 days, dating back to 28 December 2025 against Hellas Verona. In between, the American took 39 league shots without scoring, finding the net with his 40th.
It also follows his assist in the 2-2 draw at Lazio, meaning he has contributed to a goal in consecutive Serie A matches for the first time since November and December 2025, when he scored three in two games against Inter and Torino.
