Directed by R. Madhesh, 'Sandakari' is based on filmmaker Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam film My Boss, which starred Dileep and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles.The Tamil adaptation has been presented as a romantic comedy and features Prabhu, Sathyan, K. R. Vijaya, Punnagai Poo Gheetha, Crane Manohar, Rekha, Dev Gill, Uma Padmanabhan and Mahanadhi Shankar in important roles. Amrish has composed the music for the film, while the stunt sequences have been choreographed by Kanal Kannan.
