Second most wanted person in Ilocos Sur nabbed in Bulacan

SAN ILDEFONSO, Ilocos Sur — Police arrested a man ranked No. 2 on the Ilocos Sur Provincial Police Office’s (ISPPO) list of most wanted persons in Norzagaray, Bulacan, on Friday, Aug. 14.

Operatives of the Sta. Maria Municipal Police Station arrested the suspect in Barangay Tigbe, FVR, Norzagaray, following a manhunt operation, the ISPPO said in a report on Saturday, Aug. 15.

The suspect faces two counts of statutory rape, with no bail recommended for each case.

He is also wanted for violating Republic Act No. 9995, or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, in relation to Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. Bail for the latter case was set at P70,000.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Ilocos Sur police provincial director Col. Agosto Asuncion.

The ISPPO said the arrest was part of intensified efforts to locate and apprehend wanted persons through intelligence gathering, coordination among police units and sustained manhunt operations.
