Hanoi residents battle flooded streets after 150 mm of rain overnight
Many streets in Hanoi flooded, some nearly a meter deep, after more than 150 mm of rain fell overnight, leaving residents struggle to get to work or take their children to school, and some not able to leave home at all.
Cau Dien Street, part of National Highway 32 along the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line, is deeply flooded, with some stretches under nearly half a meter of water, paralyzing traffic in both directions. Many vehicles have stalled, forcing people to walk their motorbikes through the water.
