Neymar Jr. in Interlagos
There's no shortage of top-level footballers in Brazil, and Neymar Jr is among those who have snapped up a paddock pass for today's race. Lewis Hamilton said earlier this year that they often chat over messages, but as a Red Bull athlete Neymar's loyalty might (officially, at least) be split.

One of the biggest talking points from yesterday was the Sao Paulo weather. It was great to see the drivers make it out in full wet conditions, but George Russell said it would have been too dangerous to race with that amount of standing water on track. It's still damp at Interlagos with the threat of showers hanging in the air, but as you can see from the drivers' parade not long ago, there was no need for umbrellas just yet.
... but as I type, some of the journalists in the paddock have just posted in our group chat that it's drizzling at the circuit. Not the downpour we saw yesterday, but there's still over an hour until lights out...

Welcome to coverage of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix
Hello and welcome to ESPN's live blog of this afternoon's Sao Paulo Grand Prix. The drivers' championship may have been wrapped up at last weekend's Mexico City Grand Prix, but judging by yesterday's qualifying it hasn't diminished anyone's desire to win at Interlagos.
2025 world champion Lando Norris starts from pole position with Antonelli alongside him in second place, with Liam Lawson and Nico Hulkenberg making up a surprise second row. George Russell was convinced he should have taken pole position yesterday, but a combination of the second fastest lap time and a five-place engine change penalty means he will start from seventh on the grid with a massive point to prove.
If that isn't exciting enough, we've also got the prospect of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton battling through from the back of the grid after both drivers entered qualifying with 30-place engine penalties.
