Curtis Flowers, who was wrongfully imprisoned for over 20 years, has died at the age of 56. Flowers, a Black man from Mississippi, was tried six times for the same crime by the same prosecutor before ultimately being wrongfully convicted. As 60 Minutes reported in 2021, when Flowers was charged with killing four people in 1996, he had no criminal record, there was no murder weapon and no DNA or fingerprints linking him to the crime.
