Catriona Gray sorry over canceled Miss Universe India 2026 finals appearance

Catriona Gray expressed regret after her scheduled appearance at the coronation night of Miss Universe India 2026 was canceled due to “certain conditions” that could not be met.
Cornerstone Entertainment, which manages the Miss Universe 2018 titleholder, released a statement on the matter through its social media pages on Friday, Aug. 21.
“Miss Universe 2018 and Cornerstone artist, Ms. Catriona Gray, was invited to participate in the grand coronation night of Miss Universe India 2026. However, since certain conditions required for her participation could not be met, she will unfortunately not be able to join,” it said, opting not to expound.

“Catriona would have loved to take part in the festivities and witness the crowning of Miss Universe India 2026,” it added.

The pageant’s coronation night is set to be held on Sunday, Aug. 23.

Gray shared the statement via her Instagram Stories, apologizing to fans.
“So sorry to disappoint fans. [I] was so excited to meet the wonderful fans from India and experience their beautiful country for the first time. Hopefully one day soon,” she wrote.
Nonetheless, she sent her well-wishes to the contenders vying for the title. “All the best to all the contestants of MU India 2026!”
