Emmerdale to unleash huge murder mystery danger for Liam

Emmerdale's Chas Dingle plans a murder mystery to entertain her fiancé next week, but it turns into a nightmare when Liam Cavanagh ends up in danger for real. Thinking it's all part of Chas's games, Liam finds himself tied up by Dave, a violent stranger. But what will happen when the man pulls out a real gun?

"Liam's so invested in the murder mystery he's overlooked the real threat," warns our Dales source.

"He's loving every minute of what Chas has organised, until he realises this dodgy guy Dave has a serious criminal history and he's carrying a weapon! Liam can't believe this has happened…"

Chas's surprise comes after a huge falling out between her and Liam. Following lots of secretive behaviour, Liam comes home after a night away with Manpreet Sharma in tow. Chas immediately jumps to conclusions and accuses them of having an affair.

Claudette Anderson dismisses Chas and explains the three of them were attending a murder mystery evening. Chas is hurt not to be invited, but when Liam justifies why he didn't offer her a ticket, his reasoning upsets her even more…

"Liam's basically accusing Chas of being no fun," explains our spy. "It's a harsh accusation! Murder mystery nights are a bit geeky for Chas, still, she's put out not to be invited. But it's a word from Marlon that convinces her she should try to prove Liam wrong."

The game is set the next day when Paddy stumbles upon Mary's 'corpse' in the vet surgery. Panicked Paddy leads Liam and Chas to 'dead' Mary, but there it becomes clear this is Chas' surprise for her husband-to-be.

Liam is touched and excited for the fun in store, but as the day continues, he struggles to maintain his enthusiasm, and Chas is frustrated by his attitude.

Later, as Liam tries to solve a clue, he answers the door to a man called Dave, who he assumes is part of the game – and enthusiastically agrees to let Dave tie him up!

"Liam completely misreads the situation," reveals our source. "Dave's on the hunt for Dylan. And when Dylan gets home, he's petrified – he once ratted Dave out to the police! Liam realises he's in severe danger and it quickly gets worse when Dave knocks Marlon unconscious…"

Liam and Chas work together, doing their best to try and talk Dave round. But when he pulls out a gun and guides Chas outside, tied-up Liam is terrified for their lives. Can he rescue Chas from this deadly situation in time?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
