"Absolutely amazing" British police drama with Ashley Walters will leave Netflix very soon

Cuffs, the Brighton-set police drama featuring Adolescence and Top Boy star Ashley Walters, is currently streaming in the UK. But you'll have to hurry, as it is due to leave Netflix in the very near future.

The police drama, which also stars Sherlock's Amanda Abbington and SAS: Rogue Heroes star Jacob Ifan, will leave the streaming platform on 27 November, so you have just under a month to watch it.

The eight-part series premiered in 2015 on BBC One, and follows the journey of police officers in a fictional South Sussex police service as they battle with local criminals. At the same time, they also have to deal with their own complexities in their personal lives.

Despite a flurry of positive reviews by viewers, the show was cancelled after just one season. Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy in 2016, Walters shared that he "didn't understand" why it had been axed.

Despite its somewhat surprising cancellation, Cuffs has remained popular with viewers in subsequent years, and boasts an impressive user rating of 7.3/10 from 2600 logs on IMDb.

"I binge-watched this show over the last couple of days and it was absolutely amazing! The action and the scenarios were exciting, adrenaline-fuelled and at times, very intense," wrote one user.

"Each character was different and had their own advantages and disadvantages, and were played very well. The writing was amazing and so so realistic. I really wish they made more episodes because this show is amazing," they added.

Meanwhile, another user praised the "good script and wonderful acting", adding: "Great character development and an entertaining account of personal and professional challenges in a Brighton police department."

"A diverse cast with equally diverse characters [often] underrepresented in many current shows. A real shame that the BBC didn't renew it. Shows of this calibre are hard to come by," they continued.

Since the police drama concluded, Walters has featured in several major productions, and spoke exclusively to Digital Spy earlier this week about Animol, a new drama in which he stars alongside Stephen Graham.

Cuffs is streaming on Netflix until 27 November.
