Times are officially changing for Roku.

After originally being slated for a 2027 finalization, ongoing talks of a deal between Roku and Fox have finally ended. In June 2026, Fox Corp. was reportedly eyeing acquisition of Roku for $160 per share, a valuation that put their deal at $14 million, alongside Fox Class A common stock, bringing the deal to a total value of $22 million. It was reported that the deal would be finalized in the first half of 2027, which would ultimately bring the streaming TV juggernaut under the management of Fox Corp.

Now, Variety has brought word that Fox's acquisition deal of Roku and its streaming outlet has officially closed, months ahead of when it was originally expected to. Valued at $22 billion, the result of the acquisition will see Roku's founder and CEO Anthony Wood joining the Fox board of directors and serve as co-chair of the newly formed Fox Digital Platforms, which also includes Tubi, Fox One and Red Seat Ventures, among others. He'll be serving as co-chair with CEO Paul Cheesbrough of Tubi.
