Netflix's all-star Pride and Prejudice adaptation finally gets release date confirmed with first look

Ahead of the release of its highly anticipated Pride and Prejudice adaptation later this year, Netflix has unveiled a selection of first-look images, while also confirming the exact date the series will arrive.

The six-part series, written by Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper), will officially debut on the streamer on 3 December 2026, meaning there are just a few months left to wait.

Meanwhile, the first-look images have given us glimpses of Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy, Olivia Colman as Mrs Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Daryl McCormack as Mr Bingley and Jamie Demetriou as Mr Collins.

Also seen are Louis Partridge as Mr Wickham, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet and Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.

At the time of the debut of the new images, Corrin wrote on Netflix UK’s Substack: "Like most people, I fell in love with Elizabeth when I first read Pride and Prejudice in my teens, and have spent the years since navigating situations wondering… well, what would Lizzy do?

"The genius of this story is that you can return to it again and again, greet these characters like old friends, and learn from them anew.

"Dolly's adaptation brings so much to the surface that has lain forgotten in the text, as well as making the parts we love most sing even louder. The synopsis for the adaptation, which has been called "faithful" and "classic", says: "When wealthy bachelors arrive in their neighbourhood, the five Bennet sisters must navigate love, family, and society’s expectations to secure their futures.

"Jane falls for the charming Mr Bingley, while Elizabeth clashes with his proud friend Mr Darcy – but unexpected encounters and family scandals force Elizabeth to reconsider her feelings and discover the true nature of love."
