Royce Keys reportedly pushed the idea of Cruz Montana joining 946 on WWE RAW, according to a report. Montana showed up on the November 2 episode, hitting Roman Reigns with a chair before taking off the mask and revealing himself. It was chaos around Keys' match against Solo Sikoa when it happened, and it gives the faction another rising name just weeks after Carmelo Hayes joined. Montana still works on NXT, where he's scheduled to face Dion Lennox in an Unsanctioned Match this Wednesday. So his next step in WWE is now a pretty open question.

Royce Keys reportedly pushed for Cruz Montana to become the newest member of 946

The report says Keys was the one who pitched Montana's addition, and that the creative team approved it. The same thing reportedly happened with Hayes, who Keys also pushed to bring into the faction.

The reveal came after Keys and Sikoa had a short match that ended with Sikoa winning by disqualification when 946 got involved. Roman Reigns and The Usos rushed out to help their cousin, and the numbers seemed to be turning against 946.

That's when a masked attacker came in and hit Reigns in the face with a chair. He helped Keys get back to his knees, then pulled off the mask. It was Montana.

946 started as Keys, Lucien Price and Bronco Nima, with Jaida Parker joining later. Hayes was revealed on the October 12 episode of RAW, and Montana is now the sixth member.

He's formerly known as Mike Santana and is a two-time TNA World Champion. He joined NXT in July after his TNA contract expired.

Cruz Montana still has an NXT match scheduled before his RAW move develops

Montana's arrival on the main roster comes while he's still appearing on NXT. This week's show airs on Wednesday and has him facing Lennox in an Unsanctioned Match, with UFC star Michael Chandler serving as the official.

The two have been at odds since Lennox jumped Montana backstage on the October 13 episode, so there's real bad blood heading in.

That match could be a big moment for Montana's NXT run. The report doesn't confirm he's leaving the brand, though. People have raised the possibility of a send-off after the match, but that's speculation for now.

His attack on Reigns also leaves room for a bigger matchup down the line. The reference report floated the idea of him facing the World Heavyweight Champion, but no match has been confirmed.

Right now, Montana is 946's newest member, and Keys is reportedly the one who wanted him in the group.
