Translate

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died and another suffered life-threatening injuries in Stoke-on-Trent.

A cordon remains in place on Brookhouse Road, in Meir, after police were called to reports of violence at 23:45 BST on Friday.

A man in his late teens was confirmed dead at the scene, Staffordshire Police said, and another man, also in his late teens, was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Two 18-year-old men, a 20-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, all from Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on suspicion of murder, while the boy was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. All remain in police custody.

"This is a devastating time for all those affected by what has happened overnight," said Det Insp Katie Gregory.

She added: "I'd like to reassure the community that there is no wider risk to them, and we are doing all we can to understand the circumstances that led to this tragic incident."

The force has urged anyone with information about the attack to contact police.
