‘Haiwaan’ advance booking report Day 1: Akshay Kumar-Saif Ali Khan starrer off to slow start; earns Rs 2.76 crore in advance ticket sales

Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s 'Haiwaan', directed by Priyadarshan, has opened to considerable anticipation at the box office. The film, which sees the leading men reuniting on-screen again after nearly two decades, opened in theatres on Friday, September 11.According to early box office estimates, the film was off to a slow start, recording an estimated Rs 1.03 crore in Day 1 advance bookings across Hindi 2D shows. The film has since sold around 44,176 tickets across approximately 7,368 shows, according to early booking figures on Sacnilk.Including blocked seats, the Day 1 advance collection stands at an estimated Rs 2.76 crore. The film is expected to see further growth in occupancy and collections with the help of good reviews and spot bookings.

‘Haiwaan’ Day 1 box office update

As per early live box office figures, 'Haiwaan' is currently running across around 1,455 shows and has recorded an estimated Rs 0.23 crore net in India so far today. The film’s India gross currently stands at approximately Rs 46 lakh from just morning shows.Among the top-performing states, Delhi has recorded an estimated Rs 47.02 lakh, with the figure including blocked seats. Maharashtra follows with Rs 43.62, while Uttar Pradesh has contributed Rs 28.49 lakh.

Gujarat has recorded Rs 26.96 lakh, followed by West Bengal with Rs 19.48 lakh in advance sales.

Priyadarshan says ‘Haiwaan’ is not a copy of ‘Oppam’

The film has also generated curiosity over its connection to Priyadarshan’s acclaimed Malayalam thriller 'Oppam'. However, the filmmaker has stressed that Haiwaan should not be considered a carbon copy of the 2016 film and said he has deliberately approached the story differently.“No, I don't want to talk about the changes. Let people see it and understand,” Priyadarshan told ANI.

‘Haiwaan’ cast

The film Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Saiyami Kher, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Boman Irani and Sharib Hashmi in key roles. It also features Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Rajpal Yadav and Govardhan Asrani.The film marks Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s first on-screen reunion since Tashan (2008). The actors previously shared the screen in Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994) and Aarzoo (1999).
