Marvel brings back Wolverine's most underrated superpower, which could technically save the world now that it seems to have no limitations. Wolverine’s ferocious reputation is almost centered on the lethality of his claws, but his mutation gives him a dense array of secondary animalistic powers that transform him into Marvel’s ultimate apex predator. Logan's secondary attributes include hyper-acute superhuman senses that rival Daredevil's radar vision, specifically his magnified sense of smell, which allows him to track targets across vast distances and even identify shape-shifting impostors. He also possesses an innate animal empathy, meaning he can communicate with and soothe wild beasts.

The full potential of Wolverine’s healing factor borders on making him immortal. His cellular regeneration recreates entire organs and limbs within hours, minutes, or even seconds. In some storylines, Logan has survived injuries sustained in nuclear bomb explosions, even regenerating his whole body from nothing but his adamantium skeleton and his brain. Wolverine's healing factor is actually suppressed by his adamantium skeleton, which means that his baseline biological recovery rate is even faster whenever the indestructible metal is stripped from his body.

Apart from making him virtually incapable of dying, Wolverine's healing factor can also be used for the greater good when it isn't being weaponized.

Steve Orlando, Alan Robinson, and Yen Nitro's X-Men: Omega Red Dawn starts a new X-Men story centered on Arkady Rossovich a.k.a. Omega Red, who strikes the X-Mansion with a biological attack, leaving most of the mutants inside unconscious. Thanks to his healing factor, Wolverine wakes up on his own and revives Beast. At the lab, Hank McCoy draws blood from Wolverine's body and extracts his lymphocytes and antibodies to craft an instantly effective antidote that heals Storm, Cyclops, Gambit, and Jubilee to full health in a matter of seconds.

While Beast is unable to wake up Jean Grey, Bishop, and Rogue given that they were closer to the epicenter, the makeshift antidote he creates with Wolverine's blood is a scientific miracle. At this point, Hank McCoy has no idea what the biological strike's gas is even made of, yet Logan's blood is so powerful that it neutralizes its effects almost immediately. It's only until the X-Men have recovered and start theorizing that Wolverine suspects Omega Red must be behind the attack. With enough time and research, Beast could turn Wolverine's blood into the cure for the world's rarest diseases, with little need to modify its properties for it to be effective.

X-Men: Omega Red Dawn Is An Exception, Not The Rule

Despite being the perfect cure for every disease in theory, Wolverine’s blood is more often than not a volatile biological weapon when separated from his body in all other Marvel universes. From a clinical perspective, Logan's immune system is too hyper-aggressive for ordinary humans, so a standard blood transfusion fails to transfer a functional healing factor safely. Even if a scientist attempts to stabilize the extract, Logan's blood loses its efficacy almost instantly. Its instability also leads to horrific side effects, such as Wade Wilson's disfigured transformation after his Weapon X treatment locked his body into an endless, painful tug-of-war with his own pre-existing cancer.

Dracula has weaponized Wolverine's blood, using it to create new Daywalker vampires.

Besides, villains and evil corporations have manufactured flawed weapons of mass destruction using Logan's genetic information. The Weapon X program and Alchemax have harvested Wolverine’s DNA to create highly dangerous clones cursed to face severe physical and psychological degradation. While X-23 successfully inherited Logan's perfect cellular regeneration, the project required twenty-two prior failed attempts. Parallel with X-Men: Omega Red Dawn, Earth-616's Weapon X-Finity experiment is currently pitting Wolverine against four new of his clones, complete with their own sets of adamantium claws, and all seemingly destined to die fighting the original Wolverine.
