#SHOWBIZ: Angelina Jolie sells LA mansion for RM104mil ahead of global move

LOS ANGELES: Angelina Jolie has sold the historic Los Feliz mansion where she raised her six children for US$24.75 million (about RM104 million), as the Oscar-winning actress prepares for a new chapter away from here.

The 51-year-old actress has found a buyer for the 1,021-square-metre estate, which was formerly owned by legendary Hollywood director Cecil B. DeMille, according to People and property records cited by TMZ.

Jolie bought the six-bedroom, 10-bathroom property for US24.5million(aroundRM103million)in2017andlisteditforUS29.85 million (approximately RM125 million) in May.

The eventual sale was therefore about US$5.1 million (around RM21.4 million) below the asking price.

Jolie previously told The Hollywood Reporter that the home gave her children privacy, peace and safety following her separation from Brad Pitt.

"When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety," she said.

She also revealed that she had remained in Los Angeles because of her divorce, saying she hoped to spend more time in Cambodia once her youngest children reached adulthood.

The former couple's twins, Knox and Vivienne, turned 18 in July.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016 after two years of marriage and more than a decade together.

Their six children are Maddox, 25, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and the twins.

The property, located in the gated Laughlin Park enclave, spans more than two acres and features a Beaux Arts-style main residence, guest house, studio, 12-metre swimming pool, pool house, fitness studio, tea house and separate garage with a security station.

The estate also offers views of the Hollywood Hills, Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory.

Following the sale, a source told TMZ that Jolie has yet to decide on a permanent base and plans to travel between her adult children while spending time in Cambodia.

Her departure comes as she continues her acting and directing work, including Without Blood, while also developing her Atelier Jolie creative collective.
