Robert Kelker-Kelly, who played Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” died on Saturday in St. Peters, Missouri. He was 62.

The St. Peters Police Department said they responded for a report of an unconscious male who was not breathing. Police noted that he had reportedly complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive, and the circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event.

Kelker-Kelly began his acting career playing Sam Fowler on the soap opera “Another World” in 1987. In 1992, he joined “Days of Our Lives,” taking over the role from Peter Reckell. Kelker-Kelly played the character opposite Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna‘s Billie Reed before Reckell returned to the role in 1995.

In her memoir, “You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It,” Rinna discussed her difficult working relationship as on-screen love interests with Kelker-Kelly from 1992 to 1995. She said they did not get along in real life, despite filming together “every day, often half naked.”

Rinna and Kelker-Kelly both joined the daytime show in 1992, and later earned a Soap Opera Digest Award for Hottest Soap Couple in 1995. That same year, they both exited their roles.

Two years later in 1997, Kelker-Kelly married Miriam Parrish and left Los Angeles, leaving his acting career behind. He earned a certification in airframe and powerplant mechanics. From 2002 to 2003, he was an acting teacher at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School in South Hadley, Massachusetts, before becoming a professional pilot. He was still teaching and flying up until his death.

He also played Stavros Cassadine on “General Hospital” in 2001, with guest spots in 2002, 2003, 2013 and 2014. Along with his work in television, he acted in several films and TV movies including “Dream for an Insomniac,” “Winter Heat” and “Mr. Write.”
