India and Pakistan did not shake hands following their match at the Under-19 Asia Cup in Muscat on Sunday.

Pakistan won the contest by three wickets, led by Hamza Zahoor’s unbeaten century which helped the side chase down 208.

While its common practice for players from both teams to shake hands during the toss and post the game, India have avoided the formality with Pakistan since the Pahalgam terror attack in 2024.

Most recently, former Indian women’s team Harmanpreet Kaur skipped the customary handshake with her opposite number Fatima Sana during the semi-final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026.

One game later, India refused to accept the trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman and Pakistan interior minister Mohsin Naqvi after defeating Sri Lanka in the final.
