Magelang, Central Java (ANTARA) - The Borobudur Indonesia Expo 2026 served as a platform to promote leading products and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), held at Magelang City Square, Central Java, from September 17-20, 2026.

Head of the Magelang City Trade, Industry, Cooperatives, and Micro Enterprises Office Syaifullah said here on Friday that the event aimed, among other things, to promote the potential and leading products of the Borobudur Super Priority Destination (DSP) area.

It also aimed to boost the competitiveness and marketing of local MSMEs, cooperatives, and creative businesses, he added.

In addition, he said the event was expected to expand partnership networks between business operators and consumers, business partners, and stakeholders.

"Through this event, we want to encourage economic growth for the community that is based on culture and local wisdom," he said.

He said the event was being attended by around 150 booths from various parties, ranging from ministries, provincial and city or district governments, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), the private sector, and universities, to independent MSME operators.

Participants showcased various leading regional products, commodities, culinary products, as well as works from 17 creative economy subsectors.

According to him, the Borobudur Indonesia Expo 2026 also featured a series of strategic and educational activities alongside the product exhibition.

These include the Borobudur Fashion Parade organized by the Regional Handicraft Council (Dekranasda) of the Borobudur DSP area, the Borobudur Food Festival, a low-price staple goods market, digital workshops, and mass registration for the Ministry of MSMEs' SAPA UMKM program.

The Indonesian government has developed the SAPA UMKM, a digital platform designed to integrate services such as financing, marketing, business legality, and licensing support for the country's more than 56 million MSMEs.

The platform also connects entrepreneurs to strategic government programs such as the Red and White Village Cooperatives (KDMPs) and Free Nutritious Meals (MBG).
