Sor returns to training after six-week injury layoff
Super Eagles winger Yira Sor has returned to team training at Turkish club Amedspor after spending approximately six weeks recovering from an injury, boosting hopes of his return to action ahead of Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig clash against Konyaspor, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The 26-year-old had been sidelined since sustaining the injury during Amedspor’s 2-1 victory over Trabzonspor on August 31. He subsequently underwent treatment and rehabilitation before being cleared to rejoin his teammates in training.
Sor’s return comes as Amedspor prepare for their next league fixture, with the Nigerian now working towards regaining the fitness required to compete after an extended spell out of action.
The winger had made an encouraging start to his time at the Turkish club following his arrival in August, scoring one goal in his first three league appearances. His early contribution offered a positive indication of what he could bring to the team before the injury disrupted his progress.
His goal came in the victory over Trabzonspor, the same match in which he sustained the injury. The setback forced him to miss subsequent fixtures as he focused on his recovery.

Having resumed team training, Sor will now aim to build up his fitness and work his way back into contention for a place in the matchday squad. His return offers Amedspor another attacking option as they prepare for the meeting with Konyaspor.
However, his participation in Saturday’s fixture is not guaranteed, as head coach Besnik Hasi and his technical staff will need to assess his condition before deciding whether he is ready to return to competitive action.
A return to the squad would represent an important step for Sor after an injury-interrupted start to his Amedspor career. The Nigerian will be eager to rediscover the form he showed in his opening appearances and resume his contribution to the team’s campaign.
