Reform deputy leader Richard Tice has married the journalist and commentator Isabel Oakeshott in a cosy Westminster ceremony.

The Boston and Skegness MP, 62, wed Oakeshott, 10 years his junior, yesterday in the striking setting of the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft.

The party revealed the news on social media today, saying: 'Huge congratulations from everyone at Reform UK to Richard Tice and Isabel Oakeshott on their marriage yesterday.'

And the bride followed it up by thanking party leader Nigel Farage for introducing them a decade ago.

They followed up the ceremony with a gathering at the top of the Shard with around 70 friends and family from across politics who toasted them with English still and sparkling wines.

The couple share six children from previous marriages and had been engaged since Mr Tice popped the question in an Oxfordshire pub on Boxing Day.

Ms Oakeshott, pictured with her now husband in 2023, revealed the news on social media today, thanking party leader Nigel Farage for introducing them 10 years ago

Earlier this year she told the Mail's Eden Confidential column about the moment at the Royal Oak pub in Ramsden.

‘He appeared to be rooted to the bar stool, with his hand gripping his glass of mulled wine,’ she said.

‘He also asked for a 14-day cooling-off period, which I rejected. Politicians, eh? There’s always some small print.’

The ceremony was held in the small chapel off Westminster Hall in the Houses of Parliament, where MPs, peers and senior parliamentary staff can marry and have their children baptised.

The couple split their time between his Lincolnshire seaside constituency and the Gulf coast city state.

Ms Oakeshott revealed last year she had moved to the Middle East to avoid Labour's imposition of VAT on public school fees.

She told the Mail earlier this year:  'We make it work. I’ll move back ahead of the next General Election.’
