The Miami Heat's 6 losses in 9 games so far have drawn criticism from fans and legends across the league. More specifically, they are questioning the impact of their recent acquisition, Giannis Antetokounmpo. Recently, the Milwaukee Bucks head coach, Doc Rivers, commented that Giannis is difficult to coach and doesn't necessarily have a high IQ about the game. Now, former Los Angeles Lakers star Nick Young has also slammed Giannis' on-court performance. Nick called Giannis dumb.
Nick Young Calls Giannis Dumb
In the recent episode of Gil's Arena, Nick Young went through Rivers' comments and reacted to it while putting an opinion of his own. “Oh the n*** dumb!" Nick stated, “That's all. He just gyro Greek brain. All he learned was to go coast to coast.” Nick's comment made everyone laugh in the room. He believed that the trade from Bucks to the Heat has not changed much in the player. “The n***** ain't changed. I haven't seen a jump shot.”
Nick even asserted that Giannis has not developed his game since the time he joined the NBA. “The N**** been going coast to coast since he came in the league. Even in practice, that n**** said, "Hey, come on man work on the plays.” The n***** said, “nah I will just go coast to coast.””
Nick got quite brutal with his opinion on Giannis. Reflecting on the state of the Heat team, he asserted that the team will continue to lose if Giannis goes on with his current gameplay.
Doc Rivers Comment On Giannis Antetokounmpo
Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers made a few unhinged comments on Giannis. During his appearance on the Bill Simmons podcast, he stated, “Giannis wanted out, but he was a Buck. And he didn't want to be the bad guy. He wanted management and those guys to say, 'We're trading you,' instead of him asking for a trade. To me, that was the game that was being played.” He further added, “Giannis needed to just give himself to the team, not to anyone else. I liked Giannis a lot. I liked him more as a dude. He's interesting. He's not easy. He's not easy because he plays at this crazy downhill pace. He's really a difficult guy. He has this great passing ability, but he doesn't necessarily have this super IQ at the same time. It's really a strange thing, and he really has one way: downhill, force, force. Every play, he wants to force it."
