  • Apple (AAPL) has told some of its suppliers to cut production of components for its newly launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Nikkei Asia reported on Friday.
  • The move comes after soaring memory chip costs forced price increases that have dampened consumer demand. Component orders for October were cut by at least 15% from original requests, the report said.
  • Orders for both premium models are down 15%-20% in October, an executive-level source told Nikkei.
  • Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSM), Qualcomm (QCOM), Broadcom (AVGO), Amkor (AMKR), Corning (GLW), and Texas Instruments (TXN) are among the companies supporting Apple's (AAPL) supply chain and manufacturing expansion.
