‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Trailer Reveals Brian Cox, Dan Stevens Serial Killer Roles
Dexter Morgan didn’t imagine that he’d still be a serial killer in his ’50s — but he’s leaning in.
In the new, full trailer for the return of Dexter: Resurrection, Michael C. Hall‘s titular killer is back with more victims on his kill table, even as he’s entering a midlife crisis. But Morgan isn’t too thrilled with the next generation of serial killers coming up in his wake.
The trailer (below) introduces new killers played by Succession‘s Brian Cox, as The New York Ripper; and Dan Stevens, as The Five Borough Killer; and returns Uma Thurman as Charley, who has unfinished business with her pal Dex.
“I’m older. I’m wiser. Things are gonna get messy. But if I can’t believe in myself, I can’t believe in anything,” Dexter says in the first full look.
Dexter: Resurrection returns to Paramount+ on Oct. 30 with the Premium Plan.
The Dexter sequel series brought Dexter back to life after the events of the 2021 limited series Dexter: New Blood. (Prequel series Deter: Original Sin, meanwhile, was un-renewed after one season.)
Here’s the logline for Resurrection season two: “The second season of Dexter: Resurrection finds Dexter Morgan (Hall) caught between two killers — one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and the other a fresh young face terrorizing New York in ways no one has ever seen. Meanwhile, Dexter battles a new and unexpected enemy: a mid-life crisis. Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet.”
Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and original Dexter stars Desmond Harrington and James Remar round out the season two cast. Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson join in series regular roles, Krysten Ritter returns in a guest starring role, with Gabriel Luna as a new guest star.
From Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios, Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by showrunner Clyde Phillips.
Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez and Lilly Burns also executive produce, along with John Goldwyn and Sara Colleton, along with Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, and Tanner Bean & Katrina Mathewson.
