Suns' Brooks charged with DUI from March arrest

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks was charged Monday with driving under the influence following his March arrest in Scottsdale, Arizona, according to court records.
Brooks, 30, is scheduled to be arraigned for the Class 1 misdemeanor charge on Oct. 28.
"This charge stems from the incident last March," Suns senior vice president of communications Stacey Mitch said in a statement to ESPN. "We have addressed the matter with Dillon and have no further comment."
Brooks' representatives did not immediately respond to ESPN messages requesting comment.
Scottsdale police arrested Brooks during a traffic stop around 1 a.m. on March 6. At the time, a source close to Brooks told ESPN that the arrest was marijuana-related.
Brooks, entering his 10th NBA season, agreed to a three-year, $73 million contract extension through 2029-30 after averaging a career-high 20.2 points last season. He has averaged 14.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in his career between the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and the Suns.
Brooks also has another case in the Scottsdale court system. A separate misdemeanor reckless driving and speeding case from January is moving closer to trial with the court setting a trial readiness conference for Nov. 9.
