WA news live: Dangerous drivers on notice as Kelly’s Law passes parliament
Two major pieces of legislation passed WA Parliament last night around road safety and how subcontractors are paid.
Kelly’s Law passed parliament which will prevent people facing dangerous driving charges from getting back on the roads while waiting to front court.
The laws were named after Kelly T’Hart, 32, who was killed by a drunk driver in Furnissdale in May 2024.
The driver, Maddison Peace Bain, was arrested not long after and charged with the 32-year-old’s manslaughter, failing to stop and driving under the influence of alcohol.
