Soriano’s question to Roma and Everton owner Friedkin in Copenhagen revealed

Il Corriere dello Sport reports that, on Tuesday, Dan Friedkin expressed satisfaction with Roma’s achievements on and off the pitch and spoke with Man City CEO Ferran Soriano, who jokingly asked, ‘President, do you want to win this season?’

Roma and Everton owner Dan Friedkin attended the European Football Clubs board meeting in Copenhagen on Tuesday, crossing paths with presidents and directors from several other European clubs.

Friedkin: ‘A great moment’ for Roma

Corriere dello Sport reports on some exchanges Friedkin had with colleagues. Roma are currently top of the Serie A table alongside Inter and Lazio, and earlier this week they received the green light to start building their new stadium in the Pietralata neighbourhood.

“Between the stadium and first place, it’s truly a great moment for us,” Friedkin said, according to the report.

Friedkin also spoke to PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi and Manchester City CEO Soriano. The latter jokingly asked the Giallorossi owner: “President, do you want to win this season?”

The Manchester City executive then faced very different issues, as the Premier League confirmed on Tuesday that the club was guilty of all charges related to financial rule breaches.

Roma’s Serie A campaign will resume on Sunday, October 11, with an away game against Como. A few days later, on October 14, the Giallorossi will host Real Madrid at the Stadio Olimpico in the Champions League Round 2.
