Radial Entertainment Completes Busy MIPCOM Week With ‘Making A Serial Killer’ Season 3 Order

EXCLUSIVE: Radial Entertainment has had a busy week on the Croisette and just finished it off with another order.

The global distribution biz has greenlit a third season of its original series Making a Serial Killer, the true-crime series that looks at what shaped the world’s most notorious serial killers. It unravels the chilling backstories of murderers through testimony from those affected and law enforcement officers who stopped them.

Season is being produced in partnership with the UK’s FirstLook Studios (fka FirstLook TV), with Radial taking rights in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. The ten-part series will premiere on December 1 on FilmRise channels and other platforms stateside.

“We’re focused on building lasting true crime franchises with international appeal, and FirstLookStudios has been a fantastic partner in bringing that vision to life,” said Cristina Guggino, VP, Originals & Content Partnerships at Radial Entertainment.

“Making a Serial Killer delivers on that strategy by examining the mind of the killer without losing sight of the human impact. We’re excited to bring a third season to audiences across the U.S., Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland.”

“Making a Serial Killer is about the ‘why’ as much as it is about the ‘how and how were they caught,” added Will Hanrahan of FirstLook Studios. “It’s a proven winner with True Crime audiences and our partnership with Radial is one we value as an example of fantastic editorial, commercial and strategic collaboration.”

Katie Carroll and Guggino are serving as executive producers for Radial, with Hanrahan as executive producer from FirstLook Studios alongside series producers Graham Smiles and Rachel Bowering.

This multi-territory deal was negotiated by Carroll, who is Director, Originals & Business Development at Radial, and Lucy Middelboe, Director of Business at FirstLook Studios. The pair has shepherded the partnership since its inception.

For Radial, the news is a third announcement this MIPCOM Cannes week. Yesterday, it ordered new episodes of Forensic Files from ITV Studios America and Content Partners, news that came after it had bagged Season 4 rights to World’s Most Evil Prisoners and revived New Dominion Pictures title A Haunting for an updated run.
