‘I feel beneath someone when rapping in English’ – Sarkodie

Translate

Rapper Sarkodie has opened up about why he doesn't like rapping in English.

In a recent episode of The Fuse, Sarkodie said he always feels inferior when he raps in English.

He explained that he started rapping in English but switched to his native Twi because he feels superior rapping in his local dialect.

"Rapping in Twi is my superpower. I express myself way better in my mother's tongue. The emotions I want to put out come out best when I rap in my native language.

"I started rapping in English but felt like I was beneath someone when I rap in English. But when I rap in Twi, I feel equal to any other rapper in the world," he explained.
