Robin Yount shares emotional message about Bob Uecker during Brewers’ World Series celebration
Robin Yount joined thousands of Milwaukee Brewers fans in celebrating the team's historic World Series victory, delivering remarks during Friday's championship rally at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater. The Hall of Famer was one of several speakers at the event, which was part of a series of festivities held across Wisconsin to honor the franchise's first title.
Yount also reflected on the special bond between the Brewers and Bob Uecker, the longtime broadcaster who remained a beloved voice of the franchise for more than five decades before passing away in 2025.

The Hall of Famer was the team's best player on the 1982 Brewers that made it to the 7th game of the World Series before losing the seventh game to the St. Louis Cardinals. Even though that team fell short of winning the title, the '82 Brewers were celebrated with a parade from their adoring fans.

The former Brewers star said he could sense Uecker's presence throughout the Brewers' journey to their championship.
"We didn't lose Ueck," Yount remarked during the parade.

"We didn't lose him. He's here. I threw out the first pitch. I felt him all around me. Why do you think the pitch went just a bit outside? I didn't try to do that. He's here. You can't get rid of him."

Yount was alluding to Uecker's iconic moment in the film Major League, where he portrayed announcer Harry Doyle during a pitch thrown by Ricky Vaughn. Although this marked the Brewers' first championship, it was Milwaukee's second World Series crown. The city's first came in 1957, when the Milwaukee Braves defeated the New York Yankees in a seven-game series. The franchise relocated to Atlanta following the 1965 season.
