Ameesha Patel questions female stars' big entourages on film promotions: 'Costs more than their film's opening day collection'

Ameesha Patel has questioned the growing trend of stars travelling with large entourages during film promotions, especially when producers pay for it. She shared her views during an 'Ask Me Anything' session on X.

She claimed the cost of such teams can sometimes be higher than a film's opening day earnings.

The topic came up when an X user asked her about stars who bring an extra entourage to shoots at the producer's expense. The user wrote, "Mam what do you feel of the many stars who are carrying extra entourage at the producers cost for their shoots. Is it the correct thing to do?"

Ameesha Patel pointed to the money involved in keeping such teams.

She claimed that, in some cases, an actress' entourage during promotions can cost more than what her film earns on day one. She also said she hopes these actresses keep the same team in their everyday life without a producer paying for it. She wrote, "Many female actresses are in denial of their stardom; their entourage during film promotions, which comes at the cost of the producers are bigger then their day 1 collection hope they have the same entourage in their regular life minus a producer paying for it.

Ameesha Patel's film career

Ameesha Patel made her Bollywood debut with 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai' in 2000, opposite Hrithik Roshan. The film was a major hit and gave her an early place in the Hindi film industry. She later appeared in 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha', 'Humraaz', 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' and 'Race 2'.

Comeback with 'Gadar 2'

Her biggest recent comeback was 'Gadar 2' in 2023, which reunited her with Sunny Deol. The film brought back their popular characters Sakeena and Tara Singh from the 2001 hit 'Gadar: Ek Prem Katha'. It went on to become one of the major Hindi film releases of that year.
