KUALA LUMPUR: A special meeting involving 25 Negri Sembilan assemblymen tonight did not discuss Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim's audience with the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

Negri Sembilan Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias said the meeting instead focused on ensuring all elected representatives from the government bloc remained committed to serving their respective constituencies, while strengthening the party.

He said Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also reminded the assemblymen not to be distracted by current developments and to continue prioritising public service amid the political situation in the state.

"We gave one narrative, one guideline, for the 25 assemblymen to carry out their duties in their respective constituencies, strengthen the party and fulfil their responsibilities as elected representatives," he told reporters after the meeting at Menara Dato' Onn here tonight.

Jalaluddin said the meeting was also attended by Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.
