Police: No incident at 2 Quezon City schools amid alleged threat

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Tuesday said no violent incident had been reported at the Batasan Hills National High School and E-Claro Academy amid an alleged threat.

In a statement, the QCPD said the Batasan Police Station had coordinated with the respective schools’ managements and conducted a verification of the purported security concern.

“As of Sept. 8, 2026, no violent incident related to the alleged threat has been reported or recorded at either school,” the police noted.

It explained that the threat stemmed from a social media post, but it did not expound on the nature of the security concern.

“The QCPD likewise coordinated with the Quezon City District Anti-Cybercrime Team to verify the authenticity and determine the source of the alleged Facebook Messenger threat, as well as to identify the individual who may be responsible for the post,” it added.

In response, the city police district detailed that it had heightened police visibility and intensified security measures in coordination with the schools’ stakeholders.

The police also urged the public to remain calm, refrain from sharing unverified information and report suspicious activity.

“The QCPD assures the public that all reported threats are taken seriously and are subject to immediate verification and appropriate police action,” it stressed. /das
