WATCH: Tulfo asks who can validly vote in impeachment court

MANILA, Philippines – Senator-judge Erwin Tulfo raises question as who among members of the court can vote as the impeachment court’s calendar continued to change following the prosecution’s decision to drop several witnesses from its list.

“Our calendar keeps on changing, with the effect of expediting the court proceedings,” Tulfo said.

The prosecution panel earlier paused its presentation of witnesses for Article I of the Articles of Impeachment after presenting 12 witnesses, including two witnesses whose testimonies were covered by stipulations. The prosecution had originally planned to present 27 witnesses.

Meanwhile, the composition of the Senate impeachment court has also changed, with Senator Loren Legarda on sick leave, Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa in hiding, and two other senator-judges— Rodante Marcoleta and Jinggoy Estrada—detained over plunder cases. /dp
