Gun seized from 13-year-old student who brought it to Baguio City school

A .38 caliber revolver was confiscated from a 13-year-old student who allegedly brought the empty gun to a school in Baguio City.

In the report of GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Monday, a Grade 8 student allegedly showed the firearm to his classmates. There was no ammunition in the weapon.

The said gun was passed around by the students until one of them reported its presence to school officials.

Based on a photo show via video, some parts of the weapon are missing.

An investigation by authorities revealed the student found the gun inside a storage area in his house. The firearm was allegedly owned by his late grandfather who was a former member of a paramilitary unit.

The revolver is now in police custody as investigation continues.

The student who brought the gun has been placed under psychological intervention.

Efforts are being made to obtain a comment from school officials and the student’s parents. — RF, GMA News
