Container truck crashes into vehicles on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

A 40-foot container-laden truck suffered brake failure and rammed into demarcation blocks and other vehicles at the exit of the Kara Bridge on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident was disclosed in a post on Tuesday on its X handle by the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, which urged motorists to remain patient as efforts were being made to clear the obstruction.
The agency stated that the crash has caused a backlog of traffic extending to New Garage, while recovery and evacuation efforts have commenced.
The post read, “A 40ft container laden truck reportedly had a brake failure and rammed into the demarcation blocks and other vehicles at the exit of Kara Bridge.”
It added, “Recovery and evacuation efforts have commenced as backlog extends to New Garage.”
The agency stated that another crash was also recorded on the Kara Bridge inward Mowe, where a loaded trailer reportedly collided with a Sports Utility Vehicle.

It said, “Another road crash was recorded on Kara Bridge inward Mowe where a loaded trailer reportedly collided with an SUV.”
It added that officers and police personnel had been deployed to the scene to manage the situation and facilitate the clearance of the affected vehicles.
“Officers and police personnel are on the ground doing the needful,” the agency said.
The agency appealed to motorists to exercise patience, assuring them that efforts were ongoing to restore normal traffic flow.
“We implore motorists to be patient as all hands are on deck to ensure all impediments are cleared off the road,” it said.
