Celebrity Hunted viewers spot suspicious coincidence during narrow escape plan

Celebrity Hunted viewers have been left wondering whether one of Scarlette and Stuart Douglas' latest hiding places was quite as coincidental as it appeared following this Monday's (17 August) episode. The brother-and-sister presenting duo managed to remain under the radar for several days, finding refuge in Doncaster.
It was there that the pair were given a safe haven by a couple named Kerry and Darren. But it was Kerry's personal story that caught the attention of viewers. During their one-night stay, it was revealed that Kerry was a breast cancer survivor.
The detail prompted some viewers at home to question whether the encounter had been deliberately arranged by the programme, particularly given that this year's Celebrity Hunted is being made in aid of Stand Up To Cancer.
Over on X, other viewers went a step further, suggesting Hunters would have no trouble tracking Scarlette and Stuart down after losing sight of them at King's Cross Station. But most remained dubious over the authenticity of the encounter.

For weeks now, celebrity pairings have attempted to disappear into mainland Britain for 14 days while a team of professional Hunters use surveillance techniques and their various investigative skills to track them down.
The show's connection to cancer fundraising is particularly significant because Celebrity Hunted was originally created to raise money and awareness for Stand Up To Cancer. So when Kerry's own experience with breast cancer became part of Scarlette and Stuart's journey, some viewers couldn't help but wonder whether the timing of their escape was a little too perfect.

Scarlette and Stuart are among this year's line-up, alongside Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu, Lucy and Brian Conley, and JJ Chalmers and Sophie Morgan. Love Island hunks Chris Taylor and Toby Aromolaran were also part of this year's cast, but have been successfully captured.
This Monday, another duo faced the Hunters after days on the run, as Laura Smyth and Jen Brister became the latest pair to be caught out. But Scarlette and Stuart had more luck.
The pair managed to make a narrow escape from Doncaster, shortly before the Hunters searched for them in the city, knocking directly on Kerry's door. Kerry successfully stalled the Hunters, allowing Scarlette and Stuart to make their way towards Leeds.
But while they found refuge at a friend's show bar, it didn't take long for the Hunters to close in on them. This Monday's episode ended on a cliffhanger as the ground team frantically searched for the fugitives across the venue - could it be the end of the road?
Celebrity Hunted returns to Channel 4 this Tuesday (18 August) from 9pm.
