Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi has said Fulham can use their first Premier League win of the season as the platform to turn their campaign around, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Iwobi scored the only goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Hull City at Craven Cottage and discussed the result on Fulham TV.

“The win was a long time coming. We have performed well even though the results said otherwise,” Iwobi said.

“The manager has asked us to keep going, and hopefully luck will go our way, and it has now started. We just have to kick on and use this momentum for the rest of the season.”

Fulham had gone six league games without a win under Alvaro Arbeloa, who succeeded Marco Silva in July. They have five points and are off the bottom of the table.

Iwobi struck in the 33rd minute after Hull twice failed to clear their lines. Sander Berge slid the ball to him on the edge of the box, and his low shot took a deflection off Lucas Herrington and squirmed under goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis.

It was his first league goal of the season and took him to 36 in 327 Premier League appearances, level with Peter Odemwingie among Nigerians.

The 30-year-old had created 13 chances before the game without a goal or an assist. He was not alone in noticing it. Liverpool great Steve McManaman and Tim Sherwood both praised his display.
