Frankie Valli Denies Brother’s Claim He’s Retiring

Frankie Valli is not singing his swan song just yet.

After his brother Bobby Valli claimed that the Four Seasons lead singer was retiring amid concerns about his health, the 92-year-old set the record straight.

"In spite of what you might have heard,” Frankie wrote in an Aug. 14 Instagram post featuring a photo of him on stage, “I am not retired. - Frankie. ”

The “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” singer’s statement came after his younger brother Bobby announced that Frankie would be stepping away from showbiz following his successful career.

“He has millions of fans who love him dearly. He is now 92 years old. In his illustrious career, he has sold over 100 million records, R&R Hall of Fame,” Bobby wrote in a message on Facebook on Aug. 12, which has since been edited, per Deadline. “He will now retire. We will always have special memories of Frankie Valli. He has reached a place in his life where his family is there to love, cherish and to be there for him. We appreciate your love and concern.”

“I apologize. I was misinformed,” he admitted in a Aug. 14 Facebook message. “I was under the impression my brother Frankie was retiring. Hoping for him to have a speedy recovery to continue his illustrious career!”

He reiterated his “mistake” in a follow-up post, calling out those trying to make his error into an “earth shattering controversy.”

After clarifying again that Frankie is “not retiring,” Bobby wrote, “If I mislead or offended anyone once again I apologize.”

The “Rag Doll” singer sparked concern over his health after he announced in May that he was canceling the remaining 2026 tour dates of his and the Four Seasons’ farewell tour The Last Encores to prioritize his health.

“I’m so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows but I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health,” he shared in a May 29 Instagram post. “I’m looking forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again soon. Thank you for all your good wishes.”

Recently, Frankie—whose story and rise to fame with Four Seasons was the basis of the 2005 musical and subsequent 2014 film adaptation Jersey Boys—was seen publicly for the first time in months, per photos published by Page Six on Aug. 10, with fans expressing further worry about his condition.

But despite the speculation, the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” artist is emphasizing his love for performing.

“The stage has always been home,” he wrote on Instagram June 9. “Over 60 years of performing, and the energy never changed.”
