PlayStation Plus Gamers Have One Last Chance To Play A 10/10 RPG Before It's Gone

PlayStation Plus is packed with phenomenal games worth playing, which is both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, the service has vastly improved since its inception, offering a greater selection of new and old titles that are genuinely great and don't feel as if they're there merely to fill gaps. On the other hand, having too much choice can be a tad frustrating, leaving you almost paralyzed as you struggle to discern between the dozens of appealing titles that are worth playing at that moment.

While not designed for this purpose, PlayStation's removal of certain games from PS Plus almost obfuscates this choice paralysis by giving you a limited amount of time in which to play a game. There are so many games leaving PlayStation Plus at any given time, which does, in part, narrow down the available titles from which to choose. However, were you to play just one game that's leaving PlayStation Plus soon, you should make it this critically acclaimed RPG that everyone must try at least once.

Play This Amazing PS Plus RPG Before It's Too Late

With PlayStation Plus' October lineup having been officially announced, fans can begin expecting numerous titles to leave the service. It has always been this way, with exciting new titles replacing ones that have been on the service for potentially years to incentivize newcomers to subscribe and long-term fans to keep paying for their subscription. While it is always great to see newer games added, it is a shame to lose certain titles, especially those that are truly worth playing.

Such is the case with the latest game to leave PlayStation Plus, Yakuza: Like a Dragon. It joins six other games that are also leaving the service on October 20th, although it is perhaps the most important among them, as it's not only one of the best PlayStation Plus games currently available, but also a very long one. As such, if you've yet to play it, now is really the best and last time to do so, as you'll need at least 45 hours to beat its main story. Yakuza: Like A Dragon Is One Of The Best JRPGs Of All Time

Don't let that dissuade you from at least trying Yakuza: Like a Dragon, however, as it is truly one of the best JRPGs ever created. Eschewing the series' traditional real-time combat in favor of Dragon Quest-inspired turn-based battles, Yakuza: Like a Dragon delivers the most compelling, emotional, and interesting entry in the series. Of course, it is technically the seventh game in the Yakuza saga, although those who've never touched a Yakuza game before can still enjoy it, as it was designed to be a standalone release.

Accompanying Yakuza: Like a Dragon's innovative approach to turn-based combat (which has to be the most frenetic and fluid version of the combat model I've ever seen) and incredibly emotional narrative are the series' staples such as a gorgeously detailed open world, hilariously absurd side content, and a penchant for cinematic cutscenes. There are two locations to explore in Like a Dragon, with the home of the series, Kamurocho, serving as the first location and the new (for this game) Yokohama, serving as the primary setting.

If you haven't played Yakuza: Like a Dragon already, then do yourself a favor and at least play part of it while it is still free. If you love it, then you can pick it up for dirt cheap. If you hate it, which I highly doubt, then at least you can say you tried. Either way, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is worth giving a go while it is still free on PlayStation Plus, as it truly is one of the best games on the service, and it's a great shame it's leaving.
