Mammootty says National Award for Best Actor is an honour he will 'cherish for a lifetime'; Dhanush.

Mammootty and Dhanush marked major career milestones at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. Mammootty received the Best Actor honour for his performance in 'Bramayugam'.

Dhanush's 'Raayan' was named Best Tamil Film at the ceremony. Dhanush also received a Special Mention for his performance in 'Captain Miller'.President Droupadi Murmu presented the honours during the ceremony.

Mammootty receives Best Actor award for 'Bramayugam'

Mammootty was recognised for his performance in 'Bramayugam' at the prestigious ceremony. The veteran actor walked up to receive the honour from President Droupadi Murmu.The moment was met with a standing ovation from those present at the event.

Mammootty's family members and other guests joined the applause as he accepted the National Award.

The 'Padayaatra' actor later reflected on the recognition in a social media post.Mammootty wrote, "Receiving the National Award for Best Actor at the 72nd #NationalFilmAwards is an honour I will cherish for a lifetime. Dhanush celebrates 'Raayan' National Award

Dhanush had multiple reasons to celebrate at the National Film Awards. His film 'Raayan' won the Best Tamil Film award. The actor-filmmaker also received a Special Mention for his performance in 'Captain Miller'.Dhanush attended the ceremony with his sons Yatra Raja and Linga Raja. They were present as he accepted the honour from President Droupadi Murmu.

After the ceremony, Dhanush shared a photograph featuring Yatra Raja and Linga Raja on Instagram. His accompanying note focused on his gratitude towards his fans. Dhanush wrote, "When your thunder is stolen and you don’t mind it And as I always say , with my heart full of gratitude.. this is for my fans .. the pillars of my strength ."The post received reactions from celebrities and fans. Mammootty and Dhanush attended the event in traditional attire. The 'Bramayugam' actor wore a cream-white bandhgala, while Dhanush opted for a white veshti and shirt. Rajkumar Periasamy and R Kalaivanan are associated with the upcoming film 'Om Chapter 1: Udhiram - The Blood Wood'. The project is set to bring Dhanush and Mammootty together on screen.
