Jersey blunder: Jigawa Golden Stars disowns ‘Kano League Club’ inscription

Jigawa Golden Stars jersey bearing the wrong inscription of "Kano League Club" instead of the club's name during its unveiling in Dutse.

The management of Jigawa Golden Stars Football Club has disowned an erroneous inscription on its newly unveiled jersey which reads “Kano League Club” instead of the club’s correct identity.

The club’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Isyaku, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.

Isyaku said the management was unaware of the inscription before the jersey was unveiled.

“We wish to state categorically that Jigawa Golden Stars FC is not aware of this error and had no prior knowledge of the said inscription before the unveiling,” he said.

According to him, the management has commenced an investigation into the matter and will take appropriate measures to correct the error.

“Appropriate measures will be taken to address the anomaly and ensure the correct branding of our official kits,” he stated.

He reassured the club’s fans, supporters and the people of Jigawa State of its commitment to representing the state.

“We reassure our teeming fans, supporters, and the good people of Jigawa State that Jigawa Golden Stars FC remains fully committed to representing the state with pride and integrity,” he added.

Isyaku also appealed to supporters to remain calm as the management works to correct the error and restore the club’s identity.
