Amedspor chief sets goal target for Orban

Amedspor president Nahit Eren has revealed that Gift Orban must score three more goals for the Turkish club to make his loan move from Hoffenheim permanent, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Orban joined Amedspor on loan from the Bundesliga club with a mandatory purchase clause and has made an impressive start to the campaign, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in six Super Lig appearances.

Eren, speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, disclosed that Amedspor paid €500,000 to secure the Nigerian striker on loan, while the purchase clause will be activated once he reaches 10 league goals.

“We loaned Gift Orban for €500,000, not €1m. If he scores 10 goals, the mandatory purchase option will be activated,” Eren was quoted as saying by GZT.

The president also clarified that the permanent transfer fee is €3m, rather than the reported €5m, with the amount to be paid in instalments.

“This figure is €3m, not €5m. We will pay this amount in instalments over the years,” he added.

Orban scored and provided an assist in Amedspor’s 3-2 victory over Beşiktaş, taking his league tally to seven goals and moving ahead of compatriot Victor Osimhen, who has six goals for Galatasaray.

His goalscoring form has also contributed to Amedspor’s strong start to life in the top flight, with the newly promoted club currently sitting top of the Super Lig on goal difference.

With three goals required to trigger the purchase clause, Orban will be looking to maintain his scoring form and complete the required tally before the end of the campaign.
