Enzo Amore may have signed a new contract with WWE within the past week, and a fresh backstage report says people within WWE believe he has already agreed to a new deal. Nothing is confirmed though, and the outlet behind the story is still trying to verify it. One source also thinks the former Cruiserweight Champion could be heading to NXT instead of landing on the main roster right away. Amore hasn't been on WWE television since January 2018, and WWE hasn't announced a comeback or a date for a first appearance either.
Enzo Amore Could Be Heading to WWE NXT as Reports of a New Contract Emerge
This is a bit different than an update that came out just days earlier. On October 31, it was reported that Amore had spoken with WWE earlier in 2026 but had not signed a contract, and that update included the line:“However, he is not signed.”
Amore was still interested in returning at that point. Now the November 4 update suggests something might have changed during the last week, but neither report has established a publicly confirmed contract.
NXT is the destination being talked about, and it's not an official roster placement.
The idea isn't new either. Back in May, Amore was reportedly spotted backstage at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, ahead of the May 19 episode of NXT, and reports around that time also pointed to NXT, not RAW or SmackDown, as where he would start.
It would be a return to familiar ground, too, since he was already listed under the Enzo Amore name in WWE's NXT developmental system by November 2012.
Enzo Amore's 2018 WWE Exit and Independent Wrestling Run Remain Part of His Comeback Story
Amore left WWE in January 2018 after sexual assault allegations were made against him in Arizona. He denied the allegations, and the Phoenix Police Department dropped its investigation in May 2018, citing insufficient evidence.
After the exit he kept wrestling outside the company under the names nZo and Real1, and his independent run included appearances for TNA and MLW. He never came back to WWE television during that stretch.
He's stayed active in the ring too. His most recent reported match was against Nate Mattson at World Classic Professional Big Time Wrestling's Slam-O-Ween event on October 24, where he picked up a victory.
Big Cass has already returned to WWE as a singles competitor, without Amore alongside him. So a possible NXT run would give Amore a separate route back into the company rather than an immediate reunion with his former tag team partner.
