Hasan Piker, better known as HasanAbi, has threatened to take legal action against Senator Ted Cruz, after the Republican accused him of using a racial slur against Black Americans. In his October 22 Twitch livestream, the political commentator said the allegation is false and insisted the resurfaced clip from his The Young Turks days was fake. It all started when a short video from a 2016 TYT broadcast went around on X, and people began looking again at Piker's past remarks. Cruz brought the allegation up while criticizing Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed for his association with Piker.
Hasan contemplates suing Ted Cruz after he said Piker calls black people the N word and yells at Democrats for letting it get to this point Also claims the old TYT clip that's going viral right now appearing to show him say the N word with the hard R is fake "Btw, Democrats congratulations, I hope you're f'in happy!..reason why they can get away with saying sh*t like this is bc you're never gonna correct them” “That's grounds for a f'in lawsuit..we have to issue a cease and desist" "That video is f'n fake, dumba*s..are you f'in brainde-d?..I should just quit..they won, I have people in here that have given me 5 dollars a month for 47 months and they're like well you know, I saw that one video that neo n*zi put out..I hate it dude"

HasanAbi Calls the Resurfaced TYT Clip Fake
The clip, which started circulating widely on October 21, was taken from a TYT YouTube video titled Justice Department Report On Baltimore Police EXPLAINED, uploaded on August 12, 2016.
At the 2:45 mark, Piker was talking about police misconduct in Baltimore, and he referred to reports where officers used the N-word.
That nine-second excerpt became the main focus of accusations against the streamer very quickly.
Hasan rejected the clip's authenticity in his next day's livestream, getting angry after he saw a post about it. He also lashed out at one longtime subscriber who seemed to believe the allegation.
“That video is ****** fake, dumb***!” Piker said, before he questioned why viewers who supported his channel for years are accepting the clip as genuine. He also called the person who circulated it a neo-Nazi.
Ted Cruz's Comments Prompt Hasan's Lawsuit Threat
The argument got bigger when Piker came across a subreddit post discussing Cruz's remarks about him and El-Sayed.
On a Fox News appearance, Cruz accused the Michigan Senate candidate of not distancing himself from Piker.
“And Abdul El-Sayed has not distanced himself from Hasan Piker, who has insulted African-Americans, called them the N-word, insulted them, and has said, quote, ‘America deserved 9/11,'” Cruz said.
Piker argued that Cruz's statement gives him grounds to sue, and he asked how an allegation like this can be made publicly without any consequences.
“That is grounds for a ****** lawsuit, dude. Are you kidding me?!” he said during the stream.
He also criticized Democrats for not correcting what he described as false claims made by powerful political figures. Piker's threat was a response to Cruz's remarks, but he has not filed a lawsuit. So for now it's only a threat.
