The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps have strengthened their collaboration to enhance the safety of Nigerian pilgrims and improve crowd management during the 2027 Hajj operations.
The partnership was reinforced when the NSCDC Commandant-General, Ahmed Audi, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Ismail Yusuf, at the Hajj House in Abuja.
NAHCON, in a statement by Head, Information and Publications Division, Shafii Mohammed, on Wednesday, revealed that during the meeting, both organisations discussed ways to improve security, crowd movement management and the effective coordination of Hajj operations to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of future pilgrimages.
The statement read, “The visit provided an opportunity for discussions on strengthening the existing collaboration between NAHCON and the NSCDC, particularly in the areas of security, crowd movement management and safety of pilgrims, as well as effective coordination during Hajj operations.
“The Commandant General commended the leadership of Ambassador Yusuf and the ongoing reforms being undertaken by NAHCON towards repositioning the Nigerian Hajj industry. He assured the Commission of the NSCDC’s continued support and cooperation.
